JAG Poems

Thank you for visiting my blog site.
What originally started out as a simple experiment has blossomed into a minor obsession.
Please check the archives on lower left of blog site for other poems and prose. I hope you enjoy my musings, odd links and above all, my thoughts.
Criticism, either bad or good, is always constructive.

"Foreshadowing"

Ominous meanings "Come to me...You know why"
Untested, uncertain about one's true feelings, "Give me time"
An underhanded current lurking, misgivings, dread, a fear, *She's not here *
A foreboding…..a warning....beware

Omens on the horizon, our modern day Romeo and Juliet
Suggestions of the beforehand, of possibilities to seek
Words to the heavens, A simple prayer to speak:
Almighty, show us how
To open our eyes
To see with our heart
To listen with our soul
To love while there still is time

A premonition of things to come………..
"Do thou but close our hands with holy words,
Then love-devouring death do what he dare,
It is enough I may but call her mine."

Romeo speaking to Friar Lawrence before his marriage to Juliet, and already foreshadowing the death that will end their love.

William Shakespeare Romeo, in Romeo and Juliet, act 2, sc. 6, l. 6-8.
