Why Is There War?

Another dawn, Another day
Another soldier laid to rest
In the distance the bugler plays
In soulful sounds, a tune of remorse at best

"Fading light dims the sight,
And a star gems the sky, gleaming bright.
From afar drawing nigh -- Falls the night
.
"Day is done, gone the sun,
From the lake, from the hills, from the sky.
All is well, safely rest, God is nigh.

"Then good night, peaceful night,
Till the light of the dawn shineth bright,
God is near, do not fear -- Friend, good night." *

Why is there war?
Why do modern intelligent societies battle on? Do boundaries really matter?
Back and forth the line is drawn, battles fought, battles won-Everyone loses, nobody wins this blasphemous sin.

Every country has prosperity and peace in its underlying fundamental core?
Why must man prove it, again and again with war?
To say that battle proves a way-of-life, to provide freedom of speech, of choice, is to laugh in the face of all that civilization has worked to create. “A better way of life for the next generation”

How does the argument of a centuries-old Holy war play out? Where is the holy in death?
Would a Higher Being sanction an apocalypse to honor His immortality?
Does the sacrifice of life redeem man’s salvation?
Ultimately, all religions, all faiths and creeds fall under one Creator, one Higher Being.

Why does man thrive on anger and hate? And say that war is as old as time, What are we really saying? Does the killing feed a primordial hunger inbred since the dawn of time? Or will love and the humanity of man ever win? Will families and lives ever rebuild again?

Can we, the future generation, ever change the cycle? Can we, through feelings and thoughts ever imply, that never again a person in combat would have to die?
Please tell me why?

When I see the sadness and pain in a father’s eyes, as he watches his daughter die
Or to feel the tears a mother cries when she has lost her only son,
Tell me again.
Why is there war?

For the Soldier-Left Behind

In the darkness of his soul, The soldier sadly sits and waits
Away from the battle that rages on, Away from stink of death and hate
His captors compromise his duty call, behind the POW prison wall
His honor-true, His beliefs are strong. The tricks-they tried them all
Every second, everyday without delay, he struggles through, he fights
And lives through horrors-unimagined: every minute, every night
He prays that we remember not to forget his strife
For his country, right or wrong, He’s ready to give his life.

POWs/MIAs

Bring them home

The heart-felt soul still sheds its tears for the loss of even a single life When war rages on the battle goes, another fallen soldier, another mother's son
